Best Twitter Growth Tools in 2023
This is internal research we did at Tweetbase to plan our roadmap. I’ve tried to provide accurate information below, but if you notice any issues, please let me know.
Overview
Features
Which Tools to Choose?
- Typefully: Go for it if you’re seeking the best editor, scheduler, and ease of use.
- Typefully is primarily a consumer tool. Offers the best UX, which makes scaling features challenging, but its superior UX will steal the users from the other B2B products in the long-run. - Tweethunter: A great option if you’re an influencer hacking Twitter growth. It’s the most feature-rich tool on the market.
- It provides good onboarding for personalized AI. Its CRM is challenging to use, yet it’s an interesting feature. This tool leans heavily towards B2B, which may make it less user-friendly for consumers. - Hypefury: Choose this if you need a content library and want to cross-post to multiple platforms.
- Blackmagic: recommend this if you are analytics lover.
- While it offers many analytics features, I didn’t find them particularly useful myself. - ilo: I wouldn’t recommend this due to it being affected by changes in Twitter’s API.
What does this mean for Tweetbase?
If we aim to achieve feature parity with the market, it could take us years. However, I believe we don’t have to. We just need to identify where the majority of value for customers comes from and focus on them. Here’s my personal list of these apps’ core features.
Must-have
- Great editor
- We want to make it easy for our users to create content. Ex) Unsplash image integration on Notion and built in image editor by Typefully
- Engagement tools like auto retweet or auto DMs
- Scheduling
Opportunities
- Web annotation: let our users save any links, text highlights, blog posts videos, and turn them into a tweet or threads.
- Personalized AI model that writes like you. Similar to Superhuman AI.
- CRM
- Lead Finder
Features Tweetbase should not build
- Analytics.
- It’s def super cool but not essential to building content library and cross posting which Tweetbase should go for. We can do analytics in 1–2 years. - Good to have features
- 3rd Party Integrations
- Notifications Filters
- Writing Prompts
- A Viral Tweet library might be cool for a few weeks, but Twitter bookmarks will likely be more used in the long run as a better content library.
- Weekly Email Reports
- Random Winner Selection
- Top Interactions
- Data export in the Twitter’s API format
